The I Ching tells us about hexagram 56:
The I Ching is a language. Its 'letters' are in the form of images reflecting generic, holistic, organic, qualities of meaning. The set of images is finite and the language is at a level of being able to describe itself through reference to itself by the method of analogy (thus the I Ching is "autological"). This allows us to describe the details of a hexagram through a manipulation of logic and the use of analogy. The following thus describes the details of the current hexagram through analogy to each of the other hexagrams. The logic used is in interpretation of hexagrams as part/whole interactions - as such the following is like a hexagram's spectrum and so a 'parts list'.

Some PAIRS of hexagram 56 with other hexagrams:
- In the binary sequence hexagram 56 pairs with hexagram 62.
- This pairing reflects an overall focus on issues of establishing and maintaining loyalty, be it in maintaining
loyality in a distant land of many attractions (hexagram 56), or in the need to exaggerate the traditions of a
collective to aid in maintaining the collective's structure (hexagram 62).
- In the binary sequence hexagram 56 opposes hexagram

- Standardisations (60) mean a reduction in choices, but also in any sense of loyality (56) where since all
is standardised there is nothing to get 'excited' about. (56 is overall a differentiating hexagram, reflecting
remaining loyal over vast distances in time or space, reflecting the root trigram influence of blocking out - the
mountrain trigram in its refined form reflects the concept of discernment).
At the LOCAL level we are dealing with an octet of hexagrams with the trigram of MOUNTAIN as base. The association
is between 56 and 39 where the exaggerated sense of remaining loyal is reflected in a more balanced format in that
of being an obsticle to the 'mindless' flow of things; we do not advertise our loyalty, we just hold our 'ground'.
